Have you ever wondered what to do with these ubiquitous fall curiosities? Join us for a full day to unlock their hidden edibility. Humans have been eating acorns for thousands of years and some cultures like the Miwok of California relied on them as their staple food. The tribes that roamed Central Texas also harvested and prepared acorns for consumption and we're hoping you can help revive their use locally. This class will teach you how to identify good acorns from bad and various processing techniques to turn them into delicious treats and hardy survival food.
