Have you lost touch with what it takes to survive, to take care of yourself and your family? We live in an increasingly dependent world that has lost touch with even the most basic levels of self-sufficiency. This course will solve all (or a bunch) of your self-sufficiency deficiencies. Every day we hear stories of countless souls who were lost, stranded, or hit by an unexpected disaster and were wholly unprepared. With just a little practice and some knowhow you can get yourself though some of the toughest situations the world can throw at you.
Plus learning survival skills is fun and incredibly rewarding. Our expert survival instructors have some awesome skills and tips for you and are ready to share. At Earth Native we blend the best modern and indigenous survival skills on the planet to give you the best information and experience possible.
Topics covered during this course will include:
Mentality of a survival situation
Fire-building and maintaining
Creating fire by friction – Bow-drill, Hand-drill, and Fire Saw
Finding and purifying water
Creating a survival pack for your car and home
Creating and utilizing stone tools
Basic Wilderness First Aid
Wild food and foraging
Utilizing local edible, medicinal, and useful plants
Map and Compass and aidless land navigation
*On site camping and food provided
*Participants must supply their own camping gear
Coming from out of town? – Our beautiful wilderness campus is conveniently located just 25 minutes East of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Bastrop, Texas. Course participants who are flying in can arrive and camp on May 4th. Return flights should be booked for a 5pm or later departure time on May 11th or on the morning of May 12th. Shuttle service from the airport to the Earth Native property will be provided on May 4th, 5th and 11th.

*This is an ADULT class but is open to ages of 12 and up. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult participant with a 1:1 ratio.
