Wildlife Track and Sign Certifications with CyberTracker International

The Tracking Certification is a two-day practical field test that emphasizes open, honest dialogue and real learning. The tracks and sign of any and all species encountered in the field are asked, whether big or small, clear or obscure. After participants give their answers, a dialogue ensues to provide the opportunity for participants to internalize the field marks for identification. All tracking skill levels welcome.

The North American CyberTracker Conservation Evaluation System aims to establish reliable, standardized wildlife tracking training to invigorate and enhance knowledge of natural history and field-skill among biologists and various State and Federal agency personnel, train general public for reliable citizen science, and better equip educators and guides in ecotourism.

Tracker Certifications help to encourage and recognize wildlife tracking as a specialized profession. Wildlife trackers should continue to develop larger roles in research, monitoring, and ecotourism; by maintaining rigorous standards and providing an objective test of observer reliability, Tracker certificates help validate data collected in-field.
