OVERNIGHT PROGRAM DETAILS

Coming up in mid May, we are hosting our Spring Evening Program/Potluck & Overnight experience at our Bastrop Campus.

Reminders of the dates are as follows:

Wednesday Program: Wednesday, May 10

Thursday Program: Thursday, May 11

Friday Program: Friday, May 12

Classes will begin later on these days at our Bastrop campus with sign-in at 11:00am and sign-out at 3:30pm. REMINDER: Class in Bastrop for May is the SECOND CLASS DAY OF THE MONTH, not the first week of the month as usual.

Please note that we will not be operating our van as a shuttle for this week because we need all of our staff to be available for evening program. Please make carpool arrangements as needed!

In order to hopefully make it easier for more of you to participate in our evening program, we will have it begin immediately after sign out. The evening schedule will be:

11:00am - Sign-in (Class starts late for overnight program days)

3:30pm - Sign-out

3:30 - 4:30pm - Scavenger hunt and camp setup

4:30 - 5:30pm - Family Potluck dinner (Please bring food dishes to tables in Osage upon arrival & label with any allergen ingredients. We will have a washing station for those of you who would like to bring washable dishes/utensils for your family. Earth Native will provide paper plates and utensils for those that don’t bring their own.)

5:30 - 6:30pm - Evening Program

6:30 – 7:00pm - Kids who are sleeping at shelters with instructors head out

8:30pm - Quiet hours (doesn't mean bedtime for adults who aren't ready for bed)

OVERNIGHT OPTIONS:

Child Sleeping Option 1

**NOTE: COYOTES AND WILDER TEENS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE A PARENT ON SITE PARTICIPATING IN THE OVERNIGHT. KIT-FOXES AND RINGTAILS MUST HAVE A PARENT (OR DESIGNATED GUARDIAN) CAMPING ON SITE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE**

  • All Kit-Foxes, Coyotes & Teens are welcome to sleep in the shelters they built during program that day.
  • Coyotes & Teens without a parent present must sleep in shelters near instructors so they may be supervised all night.
  • All Kit Foxes, even those staying in shelters near instructors - MUST HAVE A PARENT SLEEPING ON THE LAND.
  • Kit Fox parents will be required to keep cell phones on all night in case instructors need to get in touch.
  • Ringtails must sleep with their parents

Child Sleeping Option 2

All Ringtails, Kit-Foxes and Coyotes are welcome to sleep with their families in the tent area. Tents should be set up near the parking lot by Cara Cara (The name of our new covered fire pit building) or in the field where the Earthbag structure is.

In the morning, we ask that all children be under the care of their parents by 7:00am so that instructors are relieved to prepare for the next day’s program.

Note: Many of the Instructors are working 3 overnights back to back so it is important that they get a little down time between programs.

Any help parents can give with clean up in the morning after the overnight is greatly appreciated!!!

We request that all parents and kids be packed up and off the land by 9:00am the morning after the overnight so we can re-set for the incoming programs.
