FORTS & FAIRY HOUSES

Do you see fairies hiding in the woods or tucked away in your own backyard? Have you ever wondered where they might live, what their homes look like, or what stories have been told about these mysterious little woodland creatures?

Come spend a magical day in the woods as we explore the folklore and legends surrounding fairies and other tiny forest beings. We’ll share stories, wander the trails in search of enchanted places, and look closely at the natural world for signs of the small and hidden wonders that are easy to overlook.

Then it’s time to build! Using sticks, bark, leaves, stones, and other natural materials we find in the forest, students will create miniature homes and shelters fit for woodland fairies. We’ll also put our wilderness-building skills to work constructing full-size forts of our own, perfect for hiding out, exploring, and keeping watch for fairy activity nearby.

This playful, hands-on class combines nature exploration, storytelling, creativity, and wilderness skills for a day filled with imagination and outdoor adventure. Whether your child is already a devoted fairy believer or simply loves building forts and exploring the woods, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to create, discover, and let their imagination run wild.
