Let’s face it: everyone appreciates the feeling of hanging out near a well-tended wood campfire. Join Earth Native for a fun and informative day of class and leave with some awesome fire skills! In this class, we will explore all things fire. Participants will learn not only how to light and build a fire masterfully using a single match and so much more!

 

Class topics will include:

• How to effectively light a campfire with a single match using no modern firestarting fuels

• Masterful techniques for tending fire

• The best fire structures to use in specific circumstances, i.e. cooking vs social situations

• The pros and cons of locally available firewood species and how to pick the right wood for the job

• Wet weather fire-starting techniques

• How to create a safe primitive fire pit

• The proper way to extinguish your fire when you are finished and more!

Ages: This is an adult class but open to ages 14+. Children under the ages of 16 must be accompanied by an adult participant with a 1:1 ratio. An enrollment form and payment must be received for each person attending regardless of age.
